A Happy Holidays poem about the holidays as a meeting place
of generations both alive and dead:
Happy
holidays to you and yours!
A wish for days of laughter, love, and pleasure.
Perhaps your lives could profit from the pause.
Perhaps you'll use the time to count your treasure.
Years of holidays enrich the heart,
Holding memories that do not fade.
Old times blend with new through homespun art,
Long savored as the rituals are replayed.
In holidays the generations meet.
Departed souls take once again their places,
Alive as once again the words repeat,
Yielding
galleries of once-grieved faces
Singing with us, indistinct but sweet.
