Dear Subscriber:
Each week we examine a theme from a variety of points of
view. The theme for this week is fate.
I welcome comments on my poems at https://nicholasgordon.blogspot.com
.
A philosophical name poem for someone who has had to
struggle with the burden of a chronically ill older sister:
Perhaps you think you never will recover.
Abysses in your heart disturb your pleasure.
Underneath each sunlit ecstasy
Lie shadows of the fortunes of another,
A fate that's both your burden and your treasure.
