Dear Subscriber:
Each week we examine a theme from a variety of points of
view. The theme for this week is good and evil in honor of Yom Kippur, the
Jewish Day of Atonement, which begins on September 18.
I welcome comments on my poems at https://nicholasgordon.blogspot.com
.
A secular view for Yom Kippur of why one should be good
rather than evil:
You wrap your mind around the consequence
Of sin not having any consequence.
Murderers, torturers, pimps, thieves in the end
Know they’ll share with saviors the same end.
If this is true, what reason to do good?
Perhaps there is an inner music good
People hear that evil people miss,
Universal love no soul should miss,
Radiance no one-time soul should miss.
