Dear Subscriber:
Each week we examine a theme from a variety of points of
view. The theme for this week is Father’s Day, which falls on June 18.
Today’s poem is a Father’s Day poem advising a father to
appreciate his good fortune.
I welcome comments on my poems at
https://nicholasgordon.blogspot.com.
Yours,
Nick Gordon
Fortune’s a chameleon, changing
shade
As one embraces, or
does not, one’s fate.
Ties that bind one
to an ordered life –
Having children
with a loving wife –
Endure, though
passions pale and friendships fade.
Remember, then, to
hug the life you made,
Singing, singing as
you celebrate.
