Dear Subscriber:
Each week we examine a theme from a variety of points of
view. The theme for this week is romantic love.
I welcome comments on my poems at http://nicholasgordon.blogspot.com
.
A love poem about two kinds of love:
I know you in so many ways,
And yet I don't know you at all,
Will never know you,
For you are a mystery impenetrable
Even by love.
Love, like a wave, washes over the sand,
But then must roll back into itself,
Ever dying,
Ever resurrected.
Yet beyond love is another love
Which neither lives nor dies
But simply is --
Within us,
Beyond us,
Which we can touch by holding hands.
